Circus Town (pg 3)

It was about 6:00 when Thomas rush past the game booths, all he could think about was talking to Ellen and nothing ales. As he was about to make a left a clown came out and grab him by the shoulders, the clown swing Thomas around to face him. Thomas looked at the clown, he’s hair was greasy black hair and smelled like booze, his make-up was a pale white with dark blue,.” so sonny you think you can upset mr. Jo eh?” the clown ask,” no sir, I was just thinking about the poor girl! I didn’t mean to get him upset” Thomas said, then another clown came up behind Thomas and grab him, the other clown let got and took a swing at Thomas. He punch Thomas in the stomach, Thomas got the wind knock out of him, his knees gave out.  As the clown’s kept on going, Thomas cough up blood as the clown punch his mouth, The other clown let go of Thomas, he fell to the ground and then they started to kick him at the side. After all that both clowns rush off leaving Thomas beaten to almost death.  

Down by the café, Ellen sat by the wall in a metal rose pattern chair as she read a book, she put the book down and looked all around to see if Thomas was coming, no sit of him. Quinn walk up to her,” so where’s boyo?”
Quinn ask, Ellen face went a little red,” he’ll come Quinn…I just know it” Ellen said, Quinn smiled,” I know that look! You think ye got a chance with him!” Quinn said, Ellen was shock,” what?! NO! I…we’re just friends Quinn, that’s all!” Ellen said, now her face was red as a rose,” SOMEONE HELP! A MAN IS HURT!” a voice cried out, Ellen got to her feet and follow Quinn to the crying call.


A crowd of people stood around, Quinn and Ellen push their way though, once they got to the front Ellen was shock to see Thomas laying on the ground looking all bloody, she rush over to his side, she kennelled down to him,” Thomas? Can you hear me?” she ask as she took his hand, no answer came from him, Quinn came to her side,” someone go get Alex! Come on lets take him to his place!” Quinn order, a guy came with a  stretcher, Quinn help him get Thomas onto it. Ellen got to her feet and was still holding onto Thomas hand, all them went off to Thomas place. Alex rush away from his work once her heard about Thomas, once he got to the shop people waited around outside. Alex push his way to the door,” Alex?” a voice said, Alex turn around to see a man in white and had a black bag with him,” James came on!” Alex said as he push people away to let James though.

Alex and James rush up the stairs into Thomas room, they found Thomas laying on his bed with Ellen standing by Quinn as he sat in a chair watching. Alex came over and sat down in a chair,  James come over to check Thomas out. James walk over and check Thomas, Thomas open his eyes a bit then cough up blood,” Thomas I’m doctor bailey, call me James” he said, Thomas was about to speck then he cough up blood again, he close his eyes again before James could ask Thomas anything.  Ellen walk out of the room and Quinn sat waiting, Alex sat down , hurt and worry was all that you could read on his face, James walk over to him,” let him rest…that’s all we can do Alex” James said, Alex looked on at his poor son.

Ellen walk along the stone path, she looked up at the satire night, Ellen walk in till she was at the end of town going into the forest. As Ellen walk though it was perfectly silent, only the sound of the wind twisting though the tree’s leafs, Ellen slow her walking down and then up ahead she saw an old woman sitting on a rock. Ellen stop,” hello Anna”, the old woman looked up at her, her light green eyes shine as the light hit them, a black hood coved her head, her black dress touch down to the ground, on the dress where little bone pieces, she also hand a silver chair around her neck” “hello child…Its so nice to see you…”she said as she played with a little flower. Ellen stood there with her arms cross,” why are you here? I thought you told me you’ll be back in the old cabin” Ellen said angry, Anna smiled and the got up,” lets just say a little bird told me something bad and I had to see” Anna said, Ellen drop her arms to her side,” why would you care?” she ask, Anna step in front of  her and grab Ellen’s arm,” because of what you ARE!  Bloody hell do I have to keep reminding you Ellen…You are a sole chaos reaper!” Anna said as she grip Ellen’s arm. Ellen try to pull away, Anna pulled her hand away and step back,” remember you place my child…” Anna said as she turn around and walk away. Ellen stared at Anna as she walk away, Ellen sat down on her knees and began to cry. Ellen looked at her wrist and saw a black symbol burn into her wrist.   

It was night when Thomas woke up, he felt his chest, it was bandage up. Thomas slowly put his feet to the cold floor, he looked over a chair to see his father sleeping, Thomas grab a blanket off his bed and place it on his father, Thomas put on a clean shirt, he didn‘t bother to do it up. Then Thomas walk out of the room.

Once down the stairs Thomas saw Quinn laying on a long table happily sleeping, Thomas smiled and then poke Quinn in the shoulder,” Quinn…Quinn wake up I need to talk” Thomas whisper, Quinn mumble and then open his eyes,” what…?” Quinn ask as he rub his eye, Thomas looked at him, Quinn sat up,” oh, your up!” Quinn said, Thomas coved Quinn’s mouth,” keep it down, lets talk outside” Thomas said as he remove his hand, Quinn nodded and got to his feet, Quinn grab his jacket and follow Thomas.

Outside was worm, the stars shine bright and everything was quite, Thomas sat down on a bench, Quinn sat beside him. Quinn looked at him,” so what happen?” Quinn ask, Thomas sat there,” well…um…it was a stupid clown…two of them” Thomas said, Quinn stared at him,” really…aw fuck its Tim and his bother Al” Quinn said, Thomas sat back and saw Ellen walking. Thomas got up,” Ellen?” Thomas ask, Ellen looked over at him and then smiled,” I see your doing better…Good to see, um…about today can we maker it some other time?”  Ellen ask, Thomas smiled a bit,” yes that’s fine” Thomas said, Ellen smiled and walk away.  Quinn was beside him,” a word of advice to you boyo…don’t get involved with her…It will go bad” Quinn said as he started to walk away, Thomas was confused on what Quinn said, Thomas went back inside and up to his room.

The next day Axle was so happy to see Thomas up and working. Thomas grab a tool box,” I got to go fix some lights in the human prodigies  house, so I’ll be back later” Thomas said,” okay” Alex said as he was fixing a ride piece. Thomas slowly walk to the door but turn around,” um…never mind” Thomas said as he went thought the door, Alex stop and stared at the door.

It was sunny day as Thomas walk along the game booths, he saw Iris walking over to him,” hi Thomas!” she said as she toss her white hair back. Thomas smile,” hey Irish” Thomas said, Irish looked around,” so your feeling better?” she said as she walk beside him,” ya I guess so…my ribs hurt but I’m good” Thomas said.  They stop at beautiful house, it was red and yellow colours to it and the were white, Thomas and Irish walk up the steps,” welcome to my home!” Irish said as she open the door, both walk in.

Once inside, Thomas was in amazed at all the colours around him, the wood was a deep golden colour to it, the windows were a beautiful stain glass to them. Thomas saw Sally talking to a fat lady Thomas walk over to her,” hello miss Sally” he said, Sally turn and smiled,” hello Thomas! Oh I hear about what happen…oh you poor dear! I hope your alright!” Sally said, Thomas smiled,” I’m alright and who’s your friend?” Thomas ask, the young fat woman smiled, she giggle as she held onto her pink dress,” I’m  Lulu” she said,’ well miss Lulu, its nice to meet ya” Thomas said as he put his hand out, Lulu put her chubby hand out and shook his hand, Lulu let go. Thomas moved away and stared to work on the broken light. Thomas saw children the same age of Iris, one boy had orangeish  with red high-lights in it, he wore blue overalls with no shirt, he came over to Thomas and looked at him,” hi I’m Dan the frog boy!” Dan said as he pop his eyes out at Thomas, Irish punch Dan lightly,” stop that! This is Thomas he the new fixer upper guy!” Iris said, Dan grin,” really? That’s cool!” Dan said, Thomas saw another child hugging a teddy bear, her hair curly brown hair had a little red bow in it, her red and purple dress had little holes in it. Iris walk over to the girl, this is Jenny, she can read people’s minds” Irish said, Jenny was a bit shy as she looked at Thomas, she hid behind Iris. Then a man came down the stairs, he was a really tall man, taller then Thomas, his hair was a light bronze   colour to his hair, he wore a black suit. All the kid rush  over to him, “ hello mr. Merciful! How you today?” Dan ask, mr. Merciful smiled at the young ones,” not to bad, my back hurts thou and I got a little pain in my hands” he said, Sally came over to Thomas and whisper,” that the giant of the house”, Thomas nodded, Mr. Merciful walk over to Thomas and looked down at him,” well hello mr. Barton its finally nice to meet you, your father told me so much about you. I’m mr. Merciful but call me Indigo” he said, Thomas shook his hand,” its nice to meet you, pleas call me Thomas” he said, Indigo let go of Thomas small hand,” well then,” I must be going I got to show me self off” Indigo said, Thomas nodded and watch Indigo leave. Thomas want back on working on the light, the children started to play, Sally and Lulu kept on talking, the door open again every stop doing what they were doing. Thomas turn around to see Jo and the two clown’s standing beside him one on both sides of Jo. The room was silent, Jo walk over to Thomas,” well boy how are you? See your up and about…That’s grand” Jo said, Thomas just looked at him, Jo had his cane with him, a black cane with a white skull at the top, Jo turn to the kids,” well don’t just stand there…GO AND DO SOMETHING!” Jo said in anger, all of the kids rush off to do their jobs, Sally and Lulu did the same. Thomas turn his back and went back to his job,” need to get back to work sir, so pleas let me” Thomas said, Jo grab Thomas by the shoulders and spin Thomas around to face him,” watch your self boy! Don’t give me attitude or you’ll really fine out what pain truly is!” Jo said, Jo let go of Thomas and turn away from Thomas, the tow clown’s follow him. Thomas stared on as Jo walk out of the house.

At the end of the town Ellen stood watching people pass by her, Quinn walk up to her,” so sis, what’s on your mind?” Quinn ask, Ellen looked at him,” you know not to call me that Quinn…even we come from the same family. And nothing really…just saw Anna” Ellen said, Quinn happy face turn afraid,” what…she’s still here? I thought she was long gone…or just away form here” Quinn said, Ellen had fear in her eyes,” Quinn…look” she said as she un wrap a cloth from her wrist, Quinn looked at it, shock ran over his face. Quinn gently to a hold of her wrist, he looked at it,” Ellie…” Quinn said,” I know…”Ellen said. Both stood there in silent.

            
Thomas fix most of the lights, he was up on the 2 floor when he saw two eyes looking at him though the right door, he got down from the ladder and walk over to the door, he push it open to see a little girl sitting on pill of books, she had on a pink and white dress, her blond hair was tie back. She looked up at Thomas with her cream colour eyes, Thomas didn’t know what to do, so he got on one knee and smiled,” hi there, are you alone?” Thomas ask, she didn’t answer him, she had a small book in her hand, Thomas looked at it,” what’s that?” he ask, the girl looked at the small book. The smell of lavender filled the air, Thomas head started to hurt,” what’s going on?” Thomas ask as he put his hand on his head, Thomas fell back onto his butt. The girl walk over to him,” soon…” is all she said, Thomas fell back onto his back and was out cold.

The sound of music filled the air, Thomas stood watching people dance, sing, playing violins, guitars. Then he saw himself as a little boy! He watch himself  dancing with a young woman…it was his mother, people all around him were happy to be by her. Thomas watch on as his little self dance on, so happy to have no care in the world…so…happy. Everything went dark and then a loud scream came, it was a woman  scream! Thomas coved his eyes and close his  eyes to stop the horrid screaming.
Thomas  open his eyes to see himself staring up at Ellen,” what…happen?” Thomas ask, Quinn put his hand out to him,” here let me help ya up” Quinn said, Thomas took his hand. Quinn help Thomas up to his feet,” we just found you out cold on the ground” Ellen said, Thomas looked around,” there was this girl, she was right here!” Thomas said as he pointed to the front of him,” and ahe had this little book!” Thomas said, he was about to fall, then Quinn cough him,” easy there…lets get you back home” Quinn said as he put a arm around Thomas under arm,” okay…” Thomas said, Thomas looked at Ellen, her cheeks were a beautiful red, her eyes glow. Quinn took Thomas back to the shop, Ellen follow behind.

Back inside of the shop Alex gave Thomas a cup of tea,” well maybe it was too soon to be back on your feet son…” Alex said as he sat with him, Ellen and Quinn sat on the other side,” no, I fine! Really…I…er…well can we just drop it?! I want to know why I keep smelling levered?!” Thomas ask, Alex looked down at his hands,” it’s ya ma’s favourite flower… She always had it hanging over your crib and around the house…Thomas I don’t know why you keep smelling it…” Alex said, Ellen and Quinn got up,” we’ll see ya later Thomas…bye Alex” Quinn said, Thomas nodded and got up to,” I need to laid down” he said as he walk to the stairs,” I see you guys later” Thomas said as he walk up to the stairs. Alex watch Quinn and Ellen walk out the door, once that done Alex sat and drank his tea.

Later that night, Alex and Thomas came outside to see a bon fire. Both sat down at watch Quinn play with  fire, up and down, in and out though the air. Quinn stop and took out a bow, Quinn sat beside Thomas,” so, what ya think boyo?” Quinn ask,” amazing Quinn!” Thomas said, then came the music of violin’s and drums started to play. Thomas listen and then came out Ellen, she wore a golden and sliver dress, her make-up was beautiful, gold and sliver eye blush, her lips a ruby red! Thomas stared in amazement, Quinn push Thomas arm,” listen forget about even touching her…She’s like how should I put it…she is like the fobbing fruit Thomas” Quinn said. Thomas stared at him,” Quinn I know what I’m doing…Ellen and I will just talk and see from there” Thomas said, Quinn eyes close as he put his finger tips to them, then reopen them as he drop his hand onto Thomas shoulder,” she’ll kill ya boyo” Quinn said, once Ellen stop she turn to Thomas and put her hand out to him, Thomas took it, he got to his feet,” let go talk somewhere quite” Elle said as she started to walk on, Thomas follow, Quinn watch his friend go off with Ellen,” I warned you boyo…” Quinn whisper.

Ellen sat in the grass filed, Ellen patted the spot beside her, Thomas came and sat beside her. Ellen looked up at the stars,” when I was a little child I wish so bad to be someone and to be with someone…but…” Ellen trail off, Thomas jump up to his feet,” Ellen your someone! Your someone to me, when I first set my eyes on you, the world seem to brighten up and became more beautiful! I‘ll be that someone for you!” Thomas said, Ellen got up and looked at him,” Thomas…I can’t…you can’t, it wont work” Ellen said. Thomas smiled and jump onto a big rock, “ all you need is love!” he started to sing, Ellen’s cheek’s went red,” we can’t do that” she said bitterly,” love is something no one can deny! Love is in everyone. Love is in the air. Love is what you and I have! We should be lovers!” Thomas started to sing again, Ellen looked at him,” Thomas we can’t!” she said,
Thomas took her hand,” we should be lovers and that’s a fact!” he kept on saying. Ellen pulled her hand away and turn her back,” I can’t…It will not go well with my work” Ellen said, Thomas got off the rock and put his arms around, we could be love‘s…” Thomas whisper in her ear,” just give me a chance” he continue. Ellen turn around to face him,” I wont give in” she said as she push away from Thomas, Thomas just smiled,” one night to change your mind! I’ll show you a whole new world!” Thomas said as he held out his hand, Ellen stared at his hand and then took his hand. Both took off running into the forest laughing as they ran on.
